My husband shared a quote with me that resonated with him, and the part I took away was a mention of seeking out kindness.
We are so conditioned to look for danger. Biologically, we are evolved to be attuned to threat and to escape harm. A lot of us (me, I) too often look for the bad, and respond to it instead of pursuing the good and letting the bad roll off.
We frequently have the option to control how we respond. We can choose to see danger, but not let us impact us. We can instead look for, embrace, and walk towards the kindness that greets us each day. We can relish in it instead of moving on and barely letting it touch us. We can take the time to absorb it and create space for ourselves in it.
I hope I let myself feel it more tomorrow.
