I can’t remember what I was reading when I came across this handy tip, but I can tell you a lightbulb when off inside my head. “How did I not think of that?!”
Here’s the tip: Anyone else clean their blender by hand with a sponge, soap, and water? Anyone else struggle to get into all those tiny crevasses, cutting up your hands while you wipe down the blade? Or maybe you try to rinse the lid under a running faucet and spray water clear across the kitchen. That’d be me.
I would guess few people are as silly as we are, but if you’re one of those people, I’ve got news for you. Instead of stowing the blender base away after you deposit the the attachment in the sink, put that baby to good use!
POUR A LITTLE BIT OF SOAP AND WARM WATER INTO THE BLENDER AND BLEND THE GRIME AWAY! Yep, never thought of that. Yep, we feel like dumbasses now.
In 3 seconds, you’re ready to either run the blender and blade through the dishwasher, or if you’re satisfied with its state of cleanliness post soap and water blend, dry it and store. It will save many a sponge and many a bloody finger.
Feel free to tell us how late to the game we are here. We’re just so proud to have picked up this nifty tidbit.
